What's happening to the oceans in 2025?

  • Plastic pollution: Plastic pollution in the ocean is expected to triple by 2025. This is due to the amount of plastic waste that ends up in the ocean each year.
  • Marine life: Plastic pollution affects more than 817 animal species, including 100% of marine turtles, 59% of whales, and 36% of seals.
  • Ecosystems: Plastic pollution harms marine ecosystems.
  • Human health: Plastic pollution can harm human health.
